The iconic Abbey Road studios have been put up for sale by EMI, in an attempt to cut down the group's spending in the British capital and solve crippling debts.

The Beatles, Abbey Road
If they were made notorious by The Beatles, the studios were home to some of the greatest rock pieces, before the Beatles recorded their last album there in 1969. Cliff Richard pioneered the studios, recording close to 40 pieces, from his debut single 'Move It' with back-up band The Drifters, to the famous 'Apache', this time backed up by The Shadows. Recent artists to have occupied the walls of Abbey Road studios include Pink Floyd, Oasis, and Radiohead.
